Summary:
Dozens of children and young people convened in thematic groups, facilitated by the 11 non-governmental organisations that have assumed the role of platforms to support their voice. Collectively, they drafted concrete proposals that originate from their needs and encompass diverse communities. These include individuals grappling with the stigma of disability and the lack of accessibility of public spaces, as well as young people transitioning out of care, and children and young people on the move due to poverty, conflict, natural disasters, and violence. Two representatives of the Government of Children and Youth have been appointed to serve as spokespeople on behalf of the government in relations with the media and other partners.
Aim:
The campaign aimed to create a government of children and young people, with 14 ministries with children and young people in the social welfare system as ministers for a day. They developed and presented a government program in meetings with politicians who are running in the 2024 elections for certain public offices.
