Summary:

A fundraising campaign for the work of recovery assistants for persons with mental health issues, also aimed more generally to make public opinion more sensitive to the needs and presence of persons with mental health issues in public domain in Poland. 


Aim:

The campaign is aimed at fundraising for the eFkropka Foundation, awareness raising of mental health and people in mental health crises and education on the work of recovery assistants. 


Main stakeholders:

Patients, recovery assistants. 


Issues addressed:

Awareness on mental healths issues: More than 8 million people in Poland experience various mental disorders throughout their lives. Among your friends, there may be someone who needs help right now and doesn’t know where to start. Awareness on the work of recovery assistants in Poland: a professional role available outside the public system is an innovation in Poland.
It is a new role, which has been functioning in Poland for a while now.

Recovery assistant is:

– a person who, through the experience of his/her own mental crisis, can better understand the sufferer, his/her limitations, possibilities and needs,
– someone who can look at things from the perspective of a user of psychiatric care,
– a living example that a crisis can be overcome, thus giving the patient hope.


Outcome:

Not provided. 

 


Sustainability:

Increased presence of persons with menta health issues in public domain.
