Summary:
The bi-annual national public awareness campaign ‘Faces of Depression. I don’t judge. I accept.” presenting experience of famous people.The strength of the campaign is the ambassadors, who have bee or not have been not been diagnosed with the illness, but with their authority help us to encourage seniors to seek psychological and psychiatric help without feeling ashamed or stigmatised.
Aim:
The bi-annual national public awareness campaign ‘Faces of Depression. I don’t judge. I accept.” It is the oldest and most consistent social campaign on mental health in Poland. Over the last 10 years, it has been supported by almost 60 well-known and respected people with their authority.
Main stakeholders:
Famous persons talking on their experience with mental health issues.
Issues addressed:
To stress that a combination of pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy is the most effective form of treatment for depression in adults, and in the case of children and adolescents, psychotherapy is the first step.
Outcome:
Interesting material for each campaign is being created. From campaign to campaign more persons are joining the campaigne thus increasing its visibility.
Sustainability
Increased presence of persons with menta health issues in public domain.
