Title: Citizen Change

Country: DENMARK

Form(s) of actions:

Performance, social media actions, creating institutions and events for vulnerable citizens.

Type(s) of actions

Own services, change in local society, challenge societal norms.

Summary:

Sager der Samler seeks to make a difference in the local societies. They aim to do so by offering activities for all kinds of citizens who wish to change something in society.

Aim:

To make the local society a force in restructuring a more humane, democratic and sustainable society.

Main stakeholders:

Local citizens

Issues addressed:

Public services are too focused on the national scale. More local initiatives are needed.

Outcome:

Sager der Samler is organised around the work with the ‘case’. Behind each case is one or more everyday activists who are supported by the community. Many get involved out of a sense of being marginalised to one degree or another. Some develop their cases as volunteers, some become entrepreneurs and others turn their cases into platforms for political engagement. The scale of the initiatives varies greatly. Some are small projects involving a few people. Others have a big impact and in some cases help set a national agenda. All are a source of learning.
